WAKULLA Co., Fla. (WTXL) - Being able to share a meal with family and friends is what makes Thanksgiving so special. So, if you had the opportunity to share that meal with a neighbor you may not know, would you do it?
An upcoming event in Wakulla County is allowing community members and neighbors to gather together and give thanks together.
The "Community Feast" is hosted by several churches in the community and will take place at Hudson Park on Saturday, November 22, from 11am until 3pm. Each year, participants share a free meal and bring canned-goods that are donated to local food pantries.
The event began seven years ago and has grown from only 50 community members to over 1000 attending. But this year, organizers are trying to double the number of participants.
