TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) -- Last month, I helped buck lake elementary celebrate their 3rd annual weather balloon launch. Now footage from the go-pro that went up with the balloons has been released. The balloons recorded temperature, pressure, and moisture data as they profile the atmosphere. They reached nearly 110 thousand feet; recorded temps around 80 below zero and flew all the way to Echols County, Georgia.

New in the robot-gizmo world, an insect-sized flying robot that uses static electricity to save energy. Researchers at Harvard call it Robobee, and show it perches instead of flying to extend battery life. It has an electrode patch that generates the static charge which allows it to stick to different surfaces. They hope to get the robot to perch sideways as well, rather than just upside down.

A World War 2 aircraft that has been missing for 72 years is finally found! The tbm-1c avenger was found in the Pacific Ocean, along Palau’s island chain. "Project Recover", used oceanographic technology and research to uncover wrecks, and information about downed war planes. Once they have detailed information about the planes and pilots, the Department of Defense is informed in the hopes of notifying the families of the missing soldiers.
