TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) -- Casper the friendly ghost may have met his match! This rare octopod was discovered 13 thousand feet below sea level. An octopod is different than an octopus because it has two sets of suckers on each arm instead of one. It also lacks pigment cells, so it looks almost translucent. NOAA scientists say this guy is the deepest an octopod has ever been spotted on earth.
From water to the air, the internet can now be accessed through big floating balloons. Google's "Project Loon" uses balloons to bring internet to underdeveloped countries, like Sri Lanka. The balloon can float through the stratosphere for more than a hundred days. It'll deliver internet at 3G speeds through a large attached modem, making it fine for getting online but difficult for video streaming.
A new baby polar bear gets to enjoy her first time in the snow at the Toronto zoo! Shortly after being born, officials took her into the ICU since her siblings did not survive. But now, she is very healthy and happy, eating a lot, getting plenty of exercise and play time. She will continue to spend time outdoors daily to slowly become familiarized with her new home.
