TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) -- A fire in space is one of the worst things that can happen for an astronaut. But now, NASA scientists will purposely light a fire on a cargo capsule in order to monitor how fires spread in outer space. The international space station will receive supplies and then send the empty capsule back to space before the experiment takes place. The purpose is to use this data to make equipment more fire-resistant and have data to back up.
The tech company says it’s recovered more than a ton of gold from recycled I-phones in the past year. They came from broken devices dropped off by owners. Each phone has a quarter of a milligrams worth of gold, worth about a buck. But that all adds up, a new report says they got back over 43 million dollars. Now, they can reuse the gold and reduce the amount they have to mine.
