ORLANDO, Fla. (WTXL) -- Orlando City Council has unanimously approved construction plans for a new $300 million resort promising to be a first of its kind.
BlackMINE group won approval this week for the development of their iSquare mega mall and hotel complex. Set to be North America's first 7 star hotel, the complex will be situated at the intersection of International Drive and Kirkman Road.
The 27 story mega resort is set to include 750 hotel rooms, upscale restaurants, boutiques and shopping, multiple pools, an observation deck, a helipad and a revolving restaurant.
"There has never been a project like this built before," said developer Abdul Mathin. "Not only will we create thousands of jobs for Orlando, but we are making this a totally green building with a greater focus on innovative technologies."
The new iSquare mega mall and hotel is expected to open by the summer of 2017.
