Thomas County is Promoting Literacy "One Book" at a Time

THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) - Groups across Thomas County are using a week long event to get community members reading.

"One Book" takes place from October 13 through October 18 and is sponsored by the Thomas County Public Library, the Chamber of Commerce, the Thomasville Center for the Arts, Thomas County schools, The Bookshelf, and the City of Thomasville.

The book community members are being asked to read for the initiative is, Picking Cotton, by authors Jennifer Thompson, Ronald Cotton, and Erin Torneo. Thompson and Cotton will be at the Thomasville Center for the Arts on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 7:00pm for a lecture on the book.
