TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Writers across the Tallahassee area are coming together to show their support for France and the those affected by last week's terrorist attacks.

Tallahassee Writers Association President Peggy Kassees says, "In the wake of the recent terrorist attach in France on those who use the pen to express their views, the Tallahassee Writers Association stands with Charlie Hebdo for freedom of expression, freedom to practice the arts, freedom to use our pens as writers and illustrators, without confinement by religion or state."

The TWA is also hosting speaker Debbie Allen Williams at its monthly meeting on January 15th.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and doors will be open at 5:30 p.m. in the American Legion Hall at Lake Ella. Ticket prices vary for members and non-members,
