Tallahassee Writer's Association Welcomes Guest Speaker, Jennifer Schomburg Kanke

Tallahassee, Fla. (WTXL)--A very special guest is speaking at the Tallahasse Writer's Association meeting this week alongside TWA President, Peggy Kasees.

Jennifer Schomburg Kanke is a doctoral candidate at Florida State University. She holds a BSEd, MEd, and M.A from Ohio University.

Her work was recently awarded second place in the Science Fiction Poetry Association's annual speculative poetry and contest. Her other works have appeared or is forthcoming in PleiadesPrairie SchoonerCourt GreenThe Tampa Review, and The Laurel Review.

Previously she served as an editor and book review editor for Quarter After Eight as well as worked on the staffs of Brevity and The New Ohio Review. From 2011 until April 2014 she served as the poetry editor for The Southeast Review.

The Tallahassee Writers Association's next meeting is Thursday, June 18th at the American Legion at Lake Ella. You don't have to be a member to attend.

Come early, the doors to the Legion will be open around 5:00pm so you can pick up something to eat from Food Truck Thursday or area restaurants, and enjoy a meal with fellow authors.
