TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Students across the country are getting ready for the national "Night to Shine Prom" for special needs students, and help is still needed to make the prom happen for Tallahassee students.
The prom is being hosted by Genesis Church thanks to a grant from the Tim Tebow Foundation. Forty-six churches across the country will be participating all on the same night, February 13, 2015.
Special needs students attending the prom will get the full experience from hair and make-up to a limousine ride.
VIDEO: Scott Hunter, the Lead Pastor of Genesis Church, and Heather Willis-Doxsee, the Special-Needs Director of Genesis Church, talked with anchor Kellie Bartoli about the prom and the need for volunteers and donations.
One volunteer opportunity is to act as a "buddy" for prom guests throughout the evening. Dresses and suits are also needed so students can look their best for the big night.
