MIDWAY, FL - Bad news for some nostalgic people out there.
Time to say RIP to the VCR.
The world's last video cassette recorder will be manufactured this month.
That's according Japan's Funai Electric.
The company claims to be the only VCR manufacturer left and says it will end production of the machines this month.
Funai first started manufacturing VCR's in 1983 and at one point was selling $15 million units a year.
The clunky VCR has since been replaced by new technologies; DVD's, Blu-Ray and now, streaming video services.
Last year, Funai says it sold 750,000 and found it was getting harder to find the parts to make VCR's.
