(WTXL) — Valencia Scott and Justin Barfield joined WTXL Thursday morning to tell us about this year's Star Point Tea.
This event is being hosted by the Divine Light Chapter No. 6 Order of the Eastern Star, PHA. This year's theme: "It Is Possible To Reclaim Your Future, Despite An Imperfect Past."
The purpose of the annual tea is to raise awareness and funds for underrepresented causes or charities in the community.
Past teas have supported causes such as domestic violence, cystic fibrosis and other causes. This year, the proceeds will be donated to Capital City Youth Services (CCYS).
The event is happening on Saturday, July 27 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Northside Community Center (8005 Oak Grove Road).
