SECOND CUP: Paychecks for Patriots Hiring Fair

(WTXL) — Dan McGrew joined WTXL Monday morning to tell us about the upcoming Paychecks for Patriots hiring event.

CareerSource Capital Region invites all military veterans, their spouses, eligible dependents and caregivers as well as active military personnel to the 7th annual Paychecks for Patriots hiring fair. Paychecks for Patriots Hiring Fair Thursday, November 21, 2019 9:30 am – 12:00 noon Tallahassee Community College Workforce Development Center 444 Appleyard Drive Tallahassee, FL 32304 Veterans, active military, and their family members will have exclusive access to local employers.

"Paychecks for Patriots is an unique opportunity for veterans to meet employers face-to-face who are ready to hire in a variety of industries," said Kara Palmer Smith, Senior Director at CareerSource Capital Region. "There will be more than 25 local employers at the hiring fair, some of which will be recognized as veteran friendly employers for their commitment to hiring and supporting the veterans in the capital region."

Individuals who are interested in attending are encouraged to visit their local CareerSource Capital Region center prior to the event to attend a "You're Hired" workshop to prepare for success at the Paychecks for Patriots hiring fair. The fair will include a Veteran Friendly Employer Recognition Ceremony to recognize three businesses in the capital region who are devoted to hiring veterans. This year's Veteran Friendly Employers include 211 Big Bend, Consolidated Dispatch Center, and Williams Communications. CareerSource Capital Region's Paychecks for Patriots hiring fair is exclusively sponsored by St. Mark's Powder.

The CareerSource Florida network is hosting multiple Paychecks for Patriots events during November across the state of Florida. State partners include the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, Florida National Guard, the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs, and the CareerSource Florida network.
