(WTXL) — Tamika Fields and Lorenzo Howard joined WTXL Thursday morning to tell us about the Midway Day Back 2 School Giveaway.
The giveaway is a free family-oriented event where families and the community can come out and receive health and safety information. Students will also receive free school supplies and grooming services in preparation of the upcoming school year.
The health and safety fair includes HIV/AIDS information and testing, sickle cell testing, a FLOW mobile for any Department of Motor Vehicles services, Florida Highway Patrol with information, free blood pressure checks, blood glucose and other screenings.
The American Red Cross will be on site as well as many other services and entertainment such as gaming truck for the kids and a bounce house. There will also be free food for all students.
The event will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Midway Recreational Center (420 Palmer Road, Midway Florida 32343).
