TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Fresh ideas were the topic of Second Cup on Monday.

Joining WTXL ABC's Christine Souders to discuss the fifth year of TallySOUP, a community-based development and crowdfunding event, is lead organizer Sabrina Torres.

The event also offers dinner while you listen to ideas pitched by your neighbors and then cast your vote for the winning concept.

Four people get four minutes to present their ideas for a community project. Audience members submit cash donations to the pitch pot (suggested $5 donation) and vote on a winning pitch.

The winner takes home all the money collected that night to support the launch of their idea.

Begun seven years ago in Detroit, SOUP has taken hold in cities across the country. It's in-person crowdfunding events have gathered more than 300 people.

This is Tallahassee's opportunity to show support for innovative ideas, entrepreneurship, and social change.

TallySOUP will be at 6 p.m. Friday, July 27, at Domi Station, 914 Railroad Avenue.
