TALLAHASSEE, FL- Sunrise Rocks and Second Cup featured the Omega Lamplighters!
The young men performed their competition step team numbers Friday morning.
Omega Lamplighters are part of a youth mentoring program started by WTXL Sunrise Director Royle King and the Tallahassee chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., in 2008.
The step team is a means to keep them involve and off the streets and to further harbor the program principals of Leadership, Academics, Maturity & Perseverance.
Their performance was also just in time to talk about the 5th Annual Omega Lamplighter Scholarship & Recognition Banquet being held Saturday at FAMU Grand Ballroom 1925 S. Martin L. King Jr. Blvd.
Semi Formal banquet is where the young men are recognized for their achievements and awarded scholarships for furthering their education.
