MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) - As America observes the 9-11 terror attacks, a local business is using barbeque to recognize first responders who risk their lives everyday.

Joining WTXL ABC Anchor Malcolm Hornsby on Tuesday morning was Bill Leahy from Mission BBQ.

Mission BBQ is holding its event "Hometown Heroes Cup and 9/11: NEVER FORGET MISSION BBQ" on Tuesday from 11 am to 9 p.m. There will be live singing of the National Anthem at noon.

The event will be at 216 South Magnolia Drive. A Hometown Hero Cup will cost $3.99. Two dollars of every cup sale will be donated.

Proceeds benefit the local Fire Charity, the Tallahassee Professional Firefighters Association and Police Charity and the Tallahassee Police Department Recognition Fund.

Fire, police and first responders will receive a free sandwich on 9/11.
