MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) - Coming soon to Tallahassee is A Night to Shine Prom, an event for people with special needs ages 14 and up.

Pastor Scott Hunter and a prom guest, Shannon Roberts, spoke with WTXL ABC 27 Sunrise Anchor Malcolm Hornsby on Wednesday about the fifth annual event.

Genesis Church is sponsoring the free event on February 8 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Centre of Tallahassee.

The prom features a red carpet, hair and makeup, shoeshines, limo rides, dancing, catered dinner, stage entertainment, karaoke, music therapy, art therapy, animal therapy and ice skating.

The night concludes with crowning every guest with special needs as king or queen of the prom with a special message via Tim Tebow.

On January 26, there will be a free prom show at Genesis Church for all guests. It will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The church is collecting formal wear from now through January 25.
