TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Libby Penrod and Lynne Corbett told Second Cup about A Bag For Hope.
The group provides donated fabric and supplies to sewing volunteers who make products that are then sold, and the proceeds are used for homeless children.
They told WTXL ABC 27 Sunrise Anchor Christine Souders
The proceeds are used to support the children at the Big Bend Homeless Coalition's HOPE Community.
Their accomplishments since they began in 2009:
- Refurbished the children's library at HOPE.
- Furnished graduation outfits for students, 2016
- Provided special glasses for a child with serious visual impairment, 2016
- Routinely pay for birth certificates so that children can secure identification documents.
Their projects for 2018 include refurbishing the HOPE playground and adding a basketball court.
They say that volunteers and fabric donations are always gratefully accepted.
