ORLANDO, Fla. (WTXL) – SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. has launched a new program that allows theme park guests to make purchases using their smartphone.
The mobile payment system allows guests to purchase food and souvenirs at the company’s theme parks, including SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens in Tampa. To use the program, guests need to register a credit card with the mobile app.
The new technology comes on the heels of SeaWorld’s recent roll out of a new mobile app program.
It also comes at a time where theme parks elsewhere are investing in technological advances that impact guest experiences.
Disney has been rolling out their new MyMagic+. Disney has invested more than $1 billion in the wearable technology program that allows guests to use a wristband as a one-in-all hotel room key, chard card, theme park admission ticket and FastPass.
