TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Running at an airport usually isn't something that is encouraged, but an event this weekend is giving participants the chance to see the runway like never before.
The TLH Runway Challenge takes place on Saturday, February 28 at the Tallahassee Regional Airport. The event will feature a run, a golf competition and other family-friendly activities.
VIDEO: Chris Curry, the Director of the Tallahassee Regional Airport, and Tallahassee City Commissioner Gil Ziffer joined us on Sunrise to talk about the event.
This is one of the only opportunities for the public to see the new runway first hand before airplanes make use of it on Monday, March 2.
The 5K starts at 8:30am and registration cost varies. You can learn more about this event and the new runway by calling 850-891-7802 or by visiting flytallahassee.com.
