TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- We've been gearing up for weeks for Halloween during Pinterest Party, and now the big day is almost here.
Ali White, artistic director of the Firehouse Gallery, joined us on WTXL Sunrise to teach us how to perfectly paint a pumpkin!
She showed us a few techniques, all of which just take a few supplies and some time to dry. It's a good way to get kids involved as well, since you don't need to worry about using knives to carve.
Ali says begin you begin it's important to wash and dry your pumpkin. One demonstration starts with using painters tape to plan our your design on the pumpkin. Then paint right over it. When it's dry, you can peel up the tape and reveal the picture it left behind.
You can also paint the entire pumpkin first, then add extras, like stripes, polka dots and even faces. One of Ali's pumpkins featured a different design on each side.

Each month, the Firehouse Gallery hosts "So-So Van Gogh." It's a painting class for all skill levels. Cost is $35, which includes canvas, paint, all supplies and wine & other refreshments. To sign up, click here.
In November, Firehouse Gallery is home to the Bizarre Bazaar. It's a way for local artists to sell their designs and crafts, and gives the community the chance to get a jump start on one-of-a-kind holiday shopping. It's set for November 21 and 22. For more information, click here.
