TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Meet our Pet of the Week, Skittles.
This Jack Russel Terrier Mix is about 8 years old.
Skittles came in to the shelter as an owner surrender. Volunteers call her the perfect mix between a calm dog and a playful puppy demeanor.
He gets along with other dogs and kids. He also loves to play, enjoys calm walks and is housebroken.
Skittles has been neutered. He's heartworm positive but the shelter offers several options to cover treatment, including a new free program right there at the facility.

Tuesday is also the monthly low-cost rabies and microchip clinic at the Tallahassee Animal Service Center for dogs, cats and ferrets. Pets must be at least three months old for rabies shot and two months to get a microchip. Cats must be in a pet carrier and dogs on a leash.
The clinic is September from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the shelter (1125 Easterwood Drive). There's a suggested donation of $5 for rabies and $10 for microchip. For more information, click here.
