TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Meet our Pet of the Week, Laya.
This ten-year old is a German Shepherd mix.
She came into the shelter in early October after her owners passed away. Volunteers say she's a great dog looking for a stable family to love!
Laya is laid back, gentle and loves calm walks. She's also good with other dogs, cats and kids.
Laya is in good health and is heartworm negative, and recently had a dental cleaning. She's also already been spayed.

On Friday, the shelter is hosting a "super" special event. It's called "Be a Superhero...Save a Life."
Adoption fees on all animals will be waived on Friday, October 16, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
