TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Meet our Pet of the Week, Kiku!

This five-month old kitten is a Domestic Shorthair mix.

Kiku came in to the shelter as a stray on July 15. Volunteers there learned he's laid back and loves to be held.

Kiku is in good health. He's been dewormed, microchipped, vaccinated and neutered.

You can catch our Pet of the Week every Tuesday morning at 6:30 on WTXL Sunrise.

On Saturday, the Tallahassee Animal Service Center is hosting the Me & My New Best Friend blood drive. Anyone who donates blood will get a Golden Paw, which is good for a waived adoption fee on any shelter pet through September.

The Me & My New Best Friend blood drive is Saturday, August 1 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Tallahassee Animal Service Center at 1125 Easterwood Drive.

The shelter will also have volunteers and animals on hand at FSU's event celebrating the release of the Dr. Seuss book "What Pet Should I Get". For more details, click here.
