How to Make Characters Readers Will Love to Hate

Posted

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The success of characters such as Walter White in Breaking Bad has shown us that characters don't have to be perfect to make audiences love them; they don't even have to be the good guy to succeed.

So what is the trick to making an imperfect character that audiences will love? Well, that is the focus of the next Tallahassee Writers Association monthly meeting, "Writing Flawed Characters That Succeed."

VIDEO: Peggy Kassees, TWA President, joined us on Sunrise to talk about the upcoming meeting and how it ties in with the Tallahassee Writers Association Annual Conference on April 24-26, 2015.

Three authors, Rhett DeVane, Donna Meredith and Pat Spears, will be holding the panel discussion on Thursday, February 19, and will be covering topics such as, character development, how to make a character sympathetic and more.

The doors open at 5:30pm at the American Legion in Lake Ella. If you would like to learn more information you can visit www.twaonline.org or call 850-510-1454.
