For Your Protection: Car Safety and Getting to Know Local Law Enforcement

Posted
and last updated

MIDWAY, FL -We're talking car safety in For your Protection.

Officer David Northway with Tallahassee Police Department gives us some tips on how to prevent becoming a victim.

Northway first and foremost lock your doors, also don't keep valuables out in the open.

Car thefts are a crime of opportunity.

Also, don't confront a theft in progress, instead call police right away.

It's a property crime and not worth a life.

We want to highlight an event where the community gets to have a cup of joe and conversation with local law enforcement.

Coffee with a Cop is October 7th.

Friday, October 7th is National Coffee with a Cop Day and McDonald's has partnered with the Tallahassee Police Department to bring police officers and the community members they serve together, over coffee, to discuss issues and learn more about each other.

Coffee with a Cop nurtures dialogue and allows citizens to openly share concerns with front-line officers in a neutral, non-threatening environment.

There will be no speeches.

All attendees will receive a free small cup of McCafé coffee, courtesy of McDonald’s.
