TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - When you hear the term "The Great American Essay" you may have an idea of what the essay will be about but have you ever thought about what it takes to write one?
Ned Stuckey-French is a Florida State University professor that has made it his work to study the American Essay. He has even written a book on the topic, The American Essay in the American Century.
Stuckey-French will be speaking on the topic at this month's meeting of the Tallahassee Writers Association.

The meeting takes place Thursday, September 18 beginning at 6:30pm at the American Legion in Lake Ella.
