TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Leon County is focusing on community involvement while remembering 9/11.

At an event the morning of September 11, 2014, Leon County officials and the Florida State University School of Law joined together to remember those who lost their lives in 2001 and focus on what members of the community are doing for the National Day of Service and Remembrance.

At the ceremony, attendees were asked to write encouraging letters to service members overseas, donate blood and learn how to save a life though first air training provided by the county.

Leading up to the event, community partners have been working to rehabilitate twenty homes in the Crown Ridge Estates neighborhood.
