TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tonight is the first night of Chanukah and this morning on Sunrise, we learned a little about the Jewish holiday.

Rabbi Schneur Oirechman and Udi Oirechman from Chabad of Tallahassee, a Jewish outreach organization, joined us on the show to talk about some Hanukkah traditions including the tradition of the Menorah. You can watch the interview by clicking on the video to the left.

This weekend, Chabad of Tallahassee is inviting community members to join them for the 15th Annual Jewish Community Chanukah Celebration at Lake Ella. The event will feature the lighting of a Menorah as well as food and live entertainment. It will last from 3pm to 5pm on Sunday, December 21.

If you are unable to attend the event, you will be able to see several large Menorahs as you're driving around town. Some of the locations include the Tallahassee Mall, the Tallahassee Regional Airport, City Hall, Publix Supermarkets at Killearn, Lake Ella & Ocala, and the Governor's mansion and office.
