Are You Pledging Pink Today?

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Everyone is donning pink this week for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

And while there are many different ways to show support, from decorating bras to decorating buildings in pink, one campaign is prompting individuals to make a pledge though social media with a message about what they'll do to prevent breast cancer or recognize survivors.

A large cut out set up to look like an Instagram photo will be in the Tallahassee area for the month for supporters to take photos with. There are several references hidden through the poster. The first is "2 min", a reference to the fact that every two minutes, a person is diagnosed with breast cancer. The second is "39,620" which refers to the number of woman that died of breast cancer in the last year.

VIDEO LEFT: Emily Read from Moore Communications Group joined us this morning on Sunrise to talk about the Paint the Town Pink and the Instagram cutout.

Everyone is encouraged to use the hashtags #PinkPledgeTLH, #PledgePink and #GoPink even if they don't get a chance to take a photo with the cut out.

So tell us, what are you doing to show your support?
