TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Cyber hacking is more prevalent than ever, making it that much more important to be sure your personal information is protected.
In this App-etite, WTXL ABC 27's tech reporter Morgan Moore takes a look at apps to keep us safe.
From shopping to emails and even donating to charity, our personal information is all over the Internet... and much of it is unprotected.
But fear not. The app 1Password is making it a bit harder for hackers to steal your identity.
It securely stores all of your usernames and passwords, and generates new ones that are difficult to crack. The app will even automatically log you in to different sites so you don't have to worry about remembering the crazy codes.
If your device itself falls into the wrong hands, you should be OK, as long as you've got an app like Device Locator.
This GPS-based software follows your phone wherever it goes, and you can log on and watch its every move. Plus, it'll use the phone's camera to snap a picture of your suspect, and email you the evidence.
Finally, we've all got the friend... you try to show them one photo, and suddenly they're going through your entire camera roll.
ShowStopper Photos gives you back your picture privacy.
Before you hand over phone, this app lets your create a mini-album with just four images. That way, they can only see what you want them to - and nothing more.
Here are links to all the apps mentioned:
Device Locator (only for Apple devices; $2.99): iOS
ShowStopper Photos: iOS Android
