Jennifer Meyers

Reporter, Weekend Meteorologist

Her first week on the job involved helping with the continuous coverage of Hurricane Hermine. That’s one exciting and memorable way to start her new job!

Growing up along the Gulf Coast in Texas, Jennifer experienced similar weather to that of Florida; torrential downpours, excessive heat, and even hurricanes. One year, when she was about 8 years old, Jennifer was watching Jim Cantore report as a tropical storm was making land fall. It was then that she knew she wanted to become a meteorologist.

That interest led her to Texas A&M where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology. A few internships and a graduation ceremony later, she accepted a job at KIEM, the NBC affiliate in Eureka, California, where she worked as the only meteorologist on staff. While there, she learned so much about West Coast weather, how different it was from the Gulf Coast, and how it affected the region. After spending some time in California, Jennifer decided it was time to head back to the south. That brought her to WTXL.

Jennifer is very excited to be a part of the ABC 27 Storm Team and expand her knowledge in the field of reporting. During football season, she can be seen cheering on her Texas Aggies, although she has been spotted in Garnet and Gold for FSU. One of Jennifer’s hobbies includes cooking…or at least attempting to cook! She enjoys dancing and curling up with a good book. On her days off, Jennifer’s either looking for new recipes, local eateries, or new adventures in the area.
