TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — From virtual school to virtual graduations...Coronavirus has impacted lives in more ways than one.
TCC graduate Kathryn Deal now having to wait longer to become a nurse practitioner.
"My goal is to get through my nurse practitioner school but COVID has its way of sometimes from what I've seen it sort of make things a little bit longer," Deal said.
Deal and her son Richard Saturday, celebrating their graduation from TCC from home.
And they're not alone, hundreds of graduates are feeling...
"A little bit off in a way," Noah Greigo said.
Greigo transferred to Florida State University two years ago. One of his main goals...crossing that stage and receiving his diploma.
"This is supposed to be a big achievement it's supposed to be like my Rocky Balboa reaching the top of the staircase," said Greigo.
But Greigo was determined not to let COVID-19 take that moment away.
Saturday... he took a walk of celebration across FSU visiting his favorite spots on campus to marks his accomplishments.
"I don't want it to kill my spirits. This graduation thing... I don't think anyone can take this away from me I worked so hard for this. I put in so many hours," Greigo said.
Both students making the best out of an unexpected situation.
