TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — An annual sports event for people with disabilities, goes virtual.
Florida’s Disabled Outdoors Association’s "My Sportsability" event, allows people to showcase their favorite sports.
This year is their 30th anniversary, and when they made the decision not to meet in person, they moved it online.
Everything from baseball to horseback riding, was shared online.
Executive Director Laurie Gussak, says they had way more participation than they expected.
"It just grew...it was wonderful everybody that we asked if they wanted to participate were just so excited about it. We had all kinds of different activities providers that were really excited to show what they do," said Gussak.
Saturday was the last day for the event, but they are looking forward to incorporating virtual aspects into next year’s activities.
