WHAT HAPPENED: Florida kept its streak alive on Tuesday with a 4-2 win over Florida State in the second Fresh from Florida Sunshine Showdown of the season.

The Gators have now won 10 in a row against the Seminoles.

It was a pitchers' duel through four innings until the Gators broke through in the fifth. After Jud Fabianreached on an error, Austin Langworthy doubled into the left field corner to bring home Fabian for a 1-0 lead.

UF starter Nolan Crisp allowed just one hit through his first five innings, retiring 14 batters in a row until the Seminoles got to him in the sixth. After a leadoff walk, Mike Salvatore gave FSU a 2-1 lead with a home run to right field.

Florida answered in the seventh inning with three runs to regain the lead. The rally started with a one-out walk to Fabian and continued after Brady Smith reached on an error. An infield single by Jacob Young forced an errant throw that allowed Fabian to score the tying run.

Brady McConnell launched a double over the center fielder's head that brought home two more runs to give the Gators a 4-2 lead through seven innings.

Christian Scott pitched 3.1 scoreless innings to finish the game and earned the win.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Christian ScottThe freshman took the mound with two on and two out in the sixth inning and escaped the jam. He then pitched the final 3.1 innings with just one hit allowed to earn the win. On the season, he's 2-1 with a 2.20 earned run average.

STANDOUT STAT: 10 – Florida has won 10 games in a row against in-state rival Florida State. During that span, UF has outscored the Noles 70-26.

FROM THE COACH: Head Coach Kevin O'Sullivan – On today's game: "It was a really good ballgame, well played on both sides with just a couple mistakes. We knew early on with the way the wind was blowing it was probably going to be a low scoring game. I said it after the second inning, the team that walked the least number of batters and made the fewest errors was probably going to win the ballgame, because anything hit in the air was going to have a really tough time traveling tonight.

"Going back to Nolan on the mound, he was outstanding. The important thing too, he kept his pitch count to about 63, so with three days rest he'll be ready to go on Saturday against Alabama. What can you say about Christian Scott, he was outstanding as well. In this environment he pitched great. I couldn't be more proud of those two freshmen. The big at bat was probably the double by Brady McConnell that tacked on two runs."

UP NEXT: Florida heads back to Gainesville for a three-game series with Alabama this weekend. Friday and Saturday's games will start at 6:30 p.m. with a Sunday finale at 1 p.m. All three games will air on the Gators Sports Network and SEC Network+.
