SARASOTA Co., Fla. (WWSB) -- A wastewater spill was reported in Sarasota on Wednesday night.
An estimated 2,500 gallons of raw sewage spilled at 6470 Beechwood Avenue due to an equipment malfunction at a lift station around 11:32 p.m.
Some of the release got into a nearby storm drain.
It is currently unknown if any waterways or drinking water are affected.
Clean-up actions are still in progress.
