ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice Commissioner Avery Niles says the agency will use a $750,000 grant to support its re-entry services initiative for juvenile detainees.
Niles says the re-entry program is meant to help young offenders transition back into their communities after being released from state detention centers. The grant is being supplied by the federal Office of Justice Programs.
Niles says the program's ultimate goal is to strengthen communities and families to reduce the number of juveniles who become involved in the justice system.
