TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) The Florida Supreme Court will step in to settle a dispute over secret evidence in the Florida redistricting trial.
Justices opted in a 5-2 decision to hear an appeal over whether evidence from a Gainesville political consulting firm should have been used in the redistricting trial.
Under a previous order, the evidence was allowed in court, but kept from public disclosure.
A court is currently working to decide whether Florida legislators broke the law in 2012 in the process of drawing up new political maps. Attorneys for the legislature deny any wrongdoing.
