Florida A&M confident heading into match-up with North Carolina A&T

TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - There's something special about the way this Florida A&M football team is playing. The Rattlers have a sense of swag that showed Saturday in their win over South Carolina State, a win that broke a 14 year skid. The last four wins for the Rattlers have been decided by a touchdown or less, and all were games where the Rattlers had to fight to hold on for the win.

FAMU has another tough test this weekend in top ranked North Carolina A&T. Head coach Willie Simmons likes this team's grit, but he notes, why wouldn't they be confident? This is Florida A&M, although he admits when he first got to Tallahassee, confidence was something he had to stress with this team.

"For our guys, it was the same thing. Get them to understand that we're a valuable group of individuals that have come together for a football team that's representing the best HBCU in the land, one of the best institutions in the land," he said. "If we can play with that type of pride, that type of history, and do the things we need to do on a daily basis, the success will find us."

FAMU's match-up with the Aggies is set for a 6:00 start time at Bragg on Saturday.
