Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered people cannot be discriminated against in the workplace per a federal court ruling, CNN announced on Tuesday.

Judge Diane Wood with the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals announced on Tuesday the court determined discrimination against a person on the basis of sexual orientation is a form of sex discrimination.

The ruling was brought about by a woman named Kimberly Hively who sued a community college whom she said wouldn't hire her because of her sexual orientation.
