TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida A&M University President Larry Robinson's appointment will be considered by the Florida Board of Governors on Thursday.

Robinson's appointment by the Florida A&M University Board of Trustees in November 2017 is subject to confirmation by the BOG, which oversees the state university system.

His appointment as FAMU's 12th president came after the BOG granted an exemption from new state rules requiring public universities to conduct national searches for presidents.

Before the FAMU board appointed Robinson as president, he had served as FAMU's interim president since September 2016 and had served in that capacity from July 2012 to April 2014 and in 2007.
