TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - There was a proud moment for FAMU's Marching 100 at this years Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California.
The parade drew millions of viewers on TV and several thousand in person.
The band has been preparing for this event for the last year, rehearsing and raising money to make this performance possible.
Band Director Dr. Shelby Chipman says this moment is a prestigious accomplishment for FAMU.
"I'm so grateful to Florida A&M university," he said, "... I thank everybody for this opportunity."
While in California, the Marching 100 also played at a Lakers game, the First AME Church in Los Angeles and at Band Fest.
