LOS ANGELES (AP)-- Britney Spears' one-time fiance has resigned as a co-conservator over her personal affairs.

Superior Court Judge Reva Goetz says she received Jason Trawick's resignation Friday and removed him from the conservatorship proceedings.

The resignation comes amid a report that Spears and Trawick have ended their relationship roughly a year after they were engaged.

Spears' publicist did not return a message seeking comment, and attorneys for her father, Jamie Spears, declined comment after a brief hearing Friday. Her father met with Goetz but left before the hearing.

The celebrity website TMZ reported Friday that Spears and Trawick have broken up. They were engaged in December 2011, and Trawick became her co-conservator in April.

Spears notified Fox this week that she was leaving her judging role on "The X Factor."
