TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - As the last hour of voting wraps up, voters and candidates around the state and here in our area, are anxiously awaiting the results.

Set up has just wrapped up, and the stage is set for what everyone believes will be a win.

Gillum's campaign staff, supporters and volunteers keep talking about this last minute surge. They're happy with turnout numbers and they're confident that the last few weeks of his campaign will push the Mayor to a win Tuesday night.

We spoke with Gillum's campaign communications director Geoff Burgan about the anticipated results.

If the mayor wins the democratic bid, his staffers are pretty confident he'll be facing Ron DeSantis this November.

They say that will be the big challenge. We've already seen president trump paying attention and throwing his support behind DeSantis.

So facing a big GOP push will mean whoever the democratic pick is will have to rally a ton of support.
