ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Contractors seeking to help build the University of Central Florida's downtown campus are expected to meet with university officials April 5 to glean more details on what is likely to be a $65 million project.
The Orlando Sentinel reports (http://bit.ly/1SojRU9) the centerpiece of the project will be an academic building with about 165,000 square feet and include classrooms, library/study spaces, offices, and support spaces for both UCF and Valencia College. The cost is expected to be $60 million for planning, construction, utilities, landscaping, furniture and equipment.
In addition, the project calls for a $5 million renovation of the existing Center of Emerging Media, which is located next to the downtown campus site west of Interstate 4. Proposals are due April 25.
