MADISON, Fla. (WTXL) - After a hit and run, Madison County Sheriff's Office deputies are led on a chase.

According to deputies, they received a call around 5:30 Monday evening, saying a white Toyota had clipped a car it was passing on Valdosta Highway.

The car, driven by Michael Cooks, did not stop after the accident. Deputies were dispatched to the highway to intercept the car, but say the driver ran them off the road when they caught up to him.

They say the driver of the Toyota tried to get away from deputies, driving recklessly through the City of Madison.

Deputies then forced him to drive into a wall, in order to stop him. Cooks was removed from the car and arrested on several charges including resisting arrest with violence and aggravated assault.
