TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL) - One of Nascar's most popular driver Dale Earnhardt Junior made a stop in the capital city Thursday.
Twelve drivers survived the first cut in the new format for Nascar's chase for the sprint cup. Among those was Earnhardt. This is the first year that Nascar has tried the elimination style playoff to determine a champion. Only 12 drivers remain in the hunt and in three weeks that number will dip down to eight. Earnhardt has struggled lately but is still alive in the chase.
His team says, they have plenty of tracks coming up where Junior has found success. They like his chances of sticking around after the next round of cuts.
