TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- Tallahassee police are investigating a shooting at the University Trails apartment complex on Tennessee Street.
According to police, the shooting happened around 4:40 p.m. The initial investigation shows that the boyfriend of an employee showed up to the leasing office and opened fire.
Police say the employee was being fired, and today was her last day.
A male staff member in the leasing office was shot several times. He was taken to the hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol is assisting with the investigation.
The back entrance to the complex has remained open for residents to enter. The front entrance to the complex has been blocked off, and the leasing office is currently closed as police continue to investigate.
