Man Arrested in Early Morning Valdosta Stabbing Death

VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) -- A man has been arrested in a stabbing that killed one person and injured another.

Officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of West Hill Avenue at approximately 2:40 a.m. Tuesday. They said they found 2 women who had been stabbed.

One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene, the other was transported to South Georgia Medical Center by Emergency Medical Services and later released, said police. At this time police are not releasing the identity of the victims.

However the manager of the motel on Hill Avenue where the stabbing occurred says a violent incident like this is unusual for her business. 

"This was something terrible that happened and a surprise to me", Gladys Pierce". 

Police are still investigating this case and have arrested Robert Gamble. He is facing a murder charge as well as 2 counts of Aggravated Assault, Home Invasion in 1st degree, and Possession of a Knife During the Commission of a Felony.
