TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - A sex offender accused of murdering a Tallahassee woman was back in court Thursday morning.
Leon Woodberry pled not guilty to the charges on Monday after the state says they're pursuing the death penalty in the case.
On Thursday, Woodberry waived his right to a speedy trial.
Last month, Woodberry was arrested after 24-year-old Shannan Gordon was found dead in the woods near his apartment.
Investigators say a bloody trail led them Woodberry's front door.
Inside the apartment, they say they found a knife, they believe was used in the murder.
Then in the dumpster outside, they found bloody clothes belonging to Gordon and Woodberry.
